A flat slingback solves the problem every ballet flat has. It stays on. Cut in leather and suede across the Mollini flats collection, with a strap at the back instead of a closed heel, so nothing slips and nothing rubs. Black, tan and nude.
A closed flat traps heat and works at your heel until something gives. The slingback leaves the heel open and holds the foot with a strap instead, which removes the single most common source of blisters in flat shoes. If your heels have ever slipped out of ballet flats, this is the shape that fixes it.
Look for a strap that sits above the heel bone and adjusts. Elastic handles a narrow heel better than a fixed buckle, and a padded footbed is what carries you through a day on hard floors.
A black slingback flat is the hardest-working shoe in a lot of wardrobes. It sits under trousers, finishes a midi skirt and works over a bare ankle in February. Leather keeps a crisp line and polishes back, and suede softens the whole thing and suits the warmer shades.
Tan and nude lengthen the leg and sit more naturally with linen and cream through summer. When an occasion asks for height and the same clean line, slingback heels carry the shape into a block or kitten heel.
A: For many people, yes. The open back removes the rubbing that a closed heel counter causes, and the strap keeps the foot secure rather than relying on the fit of the topline. Footbed cushioning still decides comfort over a full day.
A: Yes, provided the strap sits just above the heel bone and is adjusted correctly. An elasticated or buckled strap suits narrow heels better than a fixed band, which can sit loose and slip down as you walk.
A: Yes. A closed-toe leather slingback flat in black or tan suits most office dress codes and works under tailored trousers or a midi skirt. The open back keeps them wearable through a warm day indoors.
A: The foot should sit fully on the sole with no overhang at the toe or the sides. The strap should hold the heel firmly without pressing on the Achilles, and leather styles will ease slightly across the first few wears."
