Held at the spectacular Melbourne Museum, opening night of M/FW was a special event as First Nations designers showcased their collections to an audience buzzing with excitement. The runway was positioned above the museum entrance foyer, on the mezzanine walkway, with the treetops rainforest as its backdrop - the perfect setting for the nine designers to display their colourful and boldly patterned designs.
With natural fabrics of linen dominating, accessorised by ngupmpie weaving, the footwear by Midas shone through, with tanned and black strappy sandals, patent leather brogue and Mary Jane slingbacks, and colourful chunky platforms sandals standing out on the runway. Highlights included the beautiful model Samantha Harris walking and a powerful closing performance by Barkaa. A wonderful start to the week - I can’t wait to share more Fashion Insider news with you!
